Delete your account
You can delete your BetterBite account and its data yourself, from inside the app, at any time. It takes a few seconds and cannot be undone.

Delete it in the app
The steps are the same on iPhone and Android:
- Open BetterBite and tap your profile picture in the top corner of the Home screen to open Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Delete Account.
You can also go to Profile › Privacy & data › Delete my account and data. The same screen lets you download a copy of your data first.
If you never created an account, everything BetterBite holds about you is on your phone: deleting the app removes it.

Email us from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us that too. We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account: your email address or Sign in with Apple or Google link, and your password.
- Your synced log and backup: profile, goals, meals, nutrition history, weight and progress data.
- Your community profile, handle, published recipes, comments, likes and follows.
- Any connection to Oura or WHOOP, including our copy of the access tokens.
- The usage events linked to your account, and those sent from the phones you used with it. These go within minutes, and always within about a day.
- Every signed-in session, so you are signed out on all your devices.
What is kept, and why
- Training copies of scan photos. If you left Help improve food recognition on, a small copy of each confirmed scan photo was kept to improve our food recognition. These copies are stored with no name, account, email or device identifier, so we cannot tell which ones were yours and cannot delete them individually. Turn the setting off to stop future copies.
- Security and rate-limit records that carry a device identifier expire on their own within 30 days.
- A one-way referral identifier, used only to stop the same phone from claiming a referral reward repeatedly, is kept for up to a year.
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google Play stay with them. Deleting your BetterBite account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
