BetterBite (also written BetterBite AI) is an AI calorie and nutrition tracker for iPhone. You photograph a meal; it names each food on the plate, estimates the portion, and logs the calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat.
Calorie tracking works. Almost nobody keeps doing it. The reason is not motivation — it is that logging a single meal in a conventional tracker means searching a database, picking the right entry out of a dozen near-identical ones, guessing or weighing a portion, and repeating that for every component on the plate. Do that three times a day and most people stop within a fortnight.
BetterBite is built for the person who already believes tracking works and quit anyway. The design goal is not more features than a food diary. It is fewer actions per meal.
Photo estimation is an estimate, and BetterBite says so rather than implying certainty. The useful question is not whether a number is perfect but whether correcting it takes two seconds.
BetterBite includes a mode for people taking GLP-1 medication such as semaglutide or tirzepatide. Appetite falls sharply on these medications and the common failure is losing muscle alongside fat. GLP-1 mode sets a protein floor, scales targets for a much smaller total intake, and tracks protein against body weight rather than as a flat share of calories.
BetterBite is an independent product, built and run by a small team rather than a large company. It is new: it is not claiming a user base, an award or a press quote it does not have. What it can claim is a specific point of view about why food logging fails, and a product built around that one idea.
Meal photos are sent for analysis and are not kept as a permanent gallery on our servers. What is collected, how long it is held, and how to delete your account and data are set out in full in the privacy policy.
